Thomas Guide 2003 Los Angeles and Orange Counties: Street Guide (Los Angeles and Orange Counties Street Guide and Directory)

You need to get this reference book.
If you're at all like me and are just prone to get lost easily or just need to be sure. You need to buy this book. I gave it 5 stars because to the people that know how to read maps well will have no problem getting there way around the book. I think it should have been made just a tad bit easier. For example, connect all the cities page to page, not some cities here, and the connecting ones way on another page. Although it tells you how to read it, and says it was made to be easier to read that way, I haven't tooken the time to learn it. Zipcode finder is another great tool added to this book. It comes with a cd-rom to help find the page you are looking for. Just give it a try. They're known for great maps. Take care.

I couldn't put this down....
I couldn't put this book down...especially when I was lost in Downey.

An alltime classic.

What Color Is Your Personality?: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green...
Published in Hardcover by Hay House (December, 1999)
Author: Carol Ritberger
Average review score:

you will love it!
This book is SOOO accurate & I recommend it to everyone. If you are interested in metaphysical/esoteric information, get this book. Ms. Ritberger is an expert intuitive--I know because I am one of her students.

But...If you just want a fun book to get out and try on your guests or family like a game, then buy it also!!
This book has helped me tremendously in understanding and relating to people at work, clients, and family--I feel like I FINALLY can see the world through my parents' eyes & it has helped our relationship immensely. It is amazing how much this book will enrich your interactions with all people, and how it will change the way you view or "judge" others whom you normally would feel uncomfortable around.

You think people are different than you, well they ARE, but it isnt just on the outside..it is energetic & you were born with a personality color different than some, and similar to others.

Amazingly Accurate!
Out of all the personality books I've read, this one takes the cake! Usually personality books have tests and descriptions that are somewhat accurate, but are too general or not as descriptive. Never have I ever come across a personality book that nailed my personality down so completely and accurately.
I have never felt so validated by a personality book in all my life! It really is life changing to accurately know yourself from this easy to understand, third party point of view. Carol Ritberger seems to have true grasp of the subject. Above all the others that I have seen, this is truely a must have!

100 Years of Headline News presented by The Orange County Register
Published in Paperback by Orange County Register (01 March, 2000)
Authors: David Whiting and Phil Brigandi
Average review score:

Fascinating!
I wish this is how history would've been taught when I was in school. I sure would've paid more attention.

Not only is the book's content captivating, the vivid headlines evoke the raw emotions of the past -- the fascination with early automobiles, the terror of natural disasters, the elation of WWII victory, nationwide paranoia during the Red Scare, the joy of man's first step on the lunar surface, the disgrace of Watergate, the horror of the Challenger explosion, the shock of the Columbine shooting, the jubilation at the dawn of the New Millennium and more.

This is the next best thing to actually being there (or alive) when history was made.

Adventures in Orange County

Author: E. K. Harley

Great Little Book
I just loved this book! I have lived in Orange County for many years, but most of the delightful places that Mr. Harley describes are quite new to me, even the ones that are practically in my own backyard! There are sixty places to visit, and judging by the quality of the ones I have sampled I am going to enjoy this book for a long time. I enjoyed even just reading his description of some of the locations. The book takes you all over the county; to beaches, walking trails, viewpoints, parks, lakes, interesting and unusual residential areas and even places to visit on a rainy day. Many of the visits recommended are great for family outings. The simple walks are on generally flat ground and in safe attractive urban areas so that you don't have to be an athlete to enjoy them. The directions are easy to follow and there is always a place to park your car. I believe every resident of Orange County should have this book, not only for personal use, but to share with visitors and recent arrivals.

Agent Orange: The Bitter Harvest

Hidden dangers of Dioxin
To whom it may concern:

This informative and educational book is especially interesting to this honorably discharged Vietnam veteran, and I'm sure it will be of interest to anyone else who served over there and has helped explain why the major health problems that have struck me in the prime of my life. I'm quite sure that Agent Orange had a lot to do with my heart problems and my neurological problems, as well. This molecule, the MOST dangerous ever made by man, is not only responsible for my figurative death, but, also, the ongoing deaths of those unfortunate and innocent Vietnamese who are STILL dying in record numbers. Of course, this supposedly caring country will NOT own up to its evil and willful destruction of Vietnam and its once-beautiful country. It used Vietnam as a proving ground for its further poisoning of other 3rd world countries, such as Iraq. What a tragedy and a farce!

Highly Recommended!
This book presents a harmonic selection of ideas and therapies from ancient cultures that deal with health, illness, recovery, and treatment methods, specifically focusing on remedies that can help address the deeper issues of the whole person in order to treat manifest conditions. The models of healing include yin and yang in Chinese philosophy, hot/cold in the Americas, the three doshas in Ayurvedic Indian medicine, the four Greek humors, the four directions in Native American healing, and the five elements of Chinese acupuncture. Discussions include an introduction to ancient natural healing traditions in Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, Greece, Rome, Arabia, and early North and South America. The authors develop a cross-cultural model of the stages of life, ranging from the wood stage of life in childhood to the water stage for retirement and rest, with information for each on specific health complaints and prevention of imbalances such as allergies, cholesterol reduction, anxiety, insomnia, asthma, bronchitis, depression, arthritis, osteoporosis, and nutrition for a healthy bodyweight. These conditions are listed as they relate to each stage in life, and disease cures are enumerated with a focus on healing with food, herbs, vitamins, and minerals.
